A Mini Midway Vacation

At the Beg. of Feb. we decided to take a day off from school. We let the kids miss a day and we headed to Midway for a mini vacation. It was a blast! We went to the ice-castles and were amazed! It was so fun to walk around and see the colors in the ice. The kids liked the slide too and it wasn't too busy. The only bad thing is we were not prepared with snow boots. Next time.

The next day we went to the Provo City Center temple open house. What a beautiful temple! So gorgeous!

We bought six different flavors of cupcakes at a shop just across the street from the temple. We had a good time sampling a little of every one. They were so delicious.

And of course we went swimming. It was funny watching the family walk to the building in our swim suits with so much snow next to the sidewalks. It wasn't too cold though and our room was pretty close to the pool building.

A much needed relaxing get away!

January

This month has come and gone. It has been full of meetings for both RB and I. Hopefully Feb. will slow down a bit in that aspect. We did have some firsts though for the new year. Mainly with the Em-A-Nator. She started to actually crawl forward and not just backwards. She also got her first tooth finally.

Then comes Ms M. She is doing so well in school. She really is starting to say more sounds. Eventually she will put them together for words. Her teacher sent us this picture of her at school taking a toboggan ride. How fun!

Have a great day!

A New Year

We are lucky enough this year to have enough snow to go sledding. We have gone twice. The second time was not as fun. It was pure ice and it hurt if you crashed or hit bumps. It was pretty cold too but I'm glad we took the 1/2 hour to go with the kids.

Mmm, snot burgers.

For the new year we were at my parents home. My sister was able to come and we had a great time playing games, going ice-skating, and hanging out. The Em-a-nator found a new friend on the stove. It was pretty entertaining to watch her.

Back home we had a great time relaxing. Buddy made an airplane that would hold his cars. He was very proud of it.

For FHE we went bowling. Lil creamed us the first game, and then MJ creamed us the second. We all had a good time. RB even did trick shots.

For Christmas the kids got Walmart gift cards to get fish. After school one Friday we went to town and finally got fish. The kids were ecstatic! They still love them! Yea, for easy pets!

Yellow-Dellow (RB's fish) was the first fish in and he immediately swam into the tiki. Since he left I'm not sure any fish has swam back in there. Not any I have seen anyways.

Sucker (mine).

On the left is Mama (Ms M's), and the right is Flower (Buddy's). They are both pink fish.

The top one is Yellow-Dellow again and the bottom pinkish one is Sylvi (Lil's).

Lastly, the top one is Flower again, and the bottom one is Tiger (MJ's).

Fish food smells bad.

Welcome to the family fishies! I hope you have a great year. Ours has started out great!

Christmas

Christmas was great once again this year. We are truly spoiled. My parents were able to spend Christmas day with us before heading back to WY the day after with Chel. That gave her a few days with her boyfriend before leaving town too. Christmas Eve we went and watched the city lights, read the Christmas account out of the Children's Reader, ate Chinese food, and watched a Christmas movie. The family was so good to let me get a picture of their new pj's and books before reading them. The Em-A-Nator opened hers early Christmas morning since she was asleep the night before. Then Christmas dinner was at our home this year and that was nice. Not having to go anywhere and my parents could eat a nice dinner too. It was fun to see everyone and visit with family.

All awake and ready to open some presents.

Hope you all had a great Christmas too!
