1st Day of School

All the kids went to bed Sunday night pretty easily except this one. She will need some training, but we will get it. 

Here we are again. Back to the grind stone. :) RB is in 4th grade still. I'm in 3rd grade still but this year I'm doing the DLI program. I'm the English half of the day teacher and my partner is from Lima, Peru. She is amazing and fits well with the team! MJ is in 9th grade. Still middle school but technically high school. WHAT! Lil is in 7th grade. She has been with the same group of kids for six years. This year they mix them up more except their Spanish class. Lil is a little worried about that but will do fine. Buddy is in 3rd grade, Ms M is in 2nd grade, and Em will be doing some online preschool things this year.  

It will be a good year and we all had great first days. 

August Fun

Picking apricots at a friends home. We made pineapple/apricot jam, and lots of fruit leather. Yummy! 

Learned more about gardening. We decided to prune our plants this year. Well I over did it. Yes that is a thing. Our plants now have sun spots where the sun has scorched the fruit. Hmm, going to have to try again. 

Buddy Boy went to Bear Lake with a friend. We went a week later as a family but we didn't get any pictures. It's different paddle boarding with waves. Pretty fun though. 

Our friends took us night riding after dinner on the full moon. It was fun to watch the moon come up, and the kids loved the ride of course. 

Poor Em got sick to two days. High fever and pucky. No fun, but I'm glad she is over it and doing good again. 

MJ, Lil, and I had a girls night where we talked make-up. RB called it a clown fest so we got a clown picture for him. It was a fun night and we learned a lot. 

Awe, fair week. Ms M and Buddy Boy were in the fair for their soccer team the Sayains. They had a blast. The kids enjoyed the rides, RB enjoyed the food, and the kids did good with their entries. We had a good time. MJ, Lil, and I ran in the 5k. I was so proud that MJ and Lil finished. Lil took 3rd out of 3 for her age division too. We had fun! 

MJ and her friend are punks. They hid one day like this. The next day they hid but this is not them. It's just blankets and pillows underneath. One day I'll get them back, those clever little girls. 

I think Em takes dressing lessons from her older sister. haha. :) 

Camping With the Fam

August began with the Boyer Family Reunion. We went camping at Boulder Lake this year. We hiked, we swam, we paddle boarded, we kayaked, we played games, we had lots of fires, lots of food, and lots of fun! We were missing one niece, two nephews, and one brother-in-law. Can't wait to do it all again next year!
