Memorial Day

For Memorial Day we had a BBQ with RB's family. It was great! There was so much yummy food! Then we just sat around and talked. Life was good!

Here is RB's dad playing his harmonica.

The eating and talking.

 The kiddie table.

Thanks Ashley for taking pictures and sharing them. I was too lazy to get my own camera out!

Another Year Older

RB had another birthday. I tried to make the day special for him but it's hard when it's a school day. I let him open one present before school.

His students were so excited. RB loves to read Gerald and Piggie books by Mo Willems to his 4th graders, and they love listening to them. RB had told his class the new book that came out on the 22nd wouldn't arrive until after school let out. Well I pre-ordered it and the they liked that.

At school I had my students do a walk by shouting of Happy Birthday like I did last year. I sent one to two kids every few seconds to yell it into his classroom. Always good! We also had the Triathlon in the morning and then Field Day in the afternoon. Being in the sun all day really zaps your energy and we were exhausted when we got home. RB took a nap in the chair while I made spaghetti and his birthday cakes. Then when MJ got home for a play tryouts we opened presents.

Buddy really was upset when RB only let him open one present. He thought he should be able to open them all.

You'll notice the lovely wrapping of the presents. I was so mad when the last of the snowman paper was barely too short to fit all the way around. So I used a scrap of flower paper to finish it off. Good thing RB doesn't care about what the wrapping paper is and how it looks!

RB got a wii Golden Eye game, a board game (picture above), 3 Mo Willems books (one wont be released until Oct.), a new pair of pants and shorts, and then my practical gift of the medicine cabinet for his bathroom. He had no idea about this gift and was very surprised.

You'll notice in this picture that every kid is blowing out the candles. RB said he did get to blow out the last candle.
The next day we went to Texas Road House for dinner and that topped off a good birthday. We love you RB and all you do for this family! Happy Birthday!

Color Fun Run

Monday night was one of the best nights. We had our third annual fun run at our school for a fund raiser. However, this year we decided to add a color run to it, and a carnival after. What a blast!

The night started out with me running around like a chicken with my head cut off as I helped my team get the color stations set up. Then as a family we ran 1 mile. The girls loved it!

After we found Buddy had his own color throw inside the stroller as he found one of our color bags.

After the run, I had to quickly change and get ready for the water dunk tank. I was very nervous! It is higher than you think once you are up there. I have always wanted to do this though, and I had so much fun! Yes, I would definitely do it again! I must have hit my arm on the way down one time though because my arm is sporting two beautiful blue bruises that are very sore!

After another change out of my wet clothes it was time for the carnival. We started with eating dinner. Needed! After we went to the Otter Pop walk which Buddy was very good to share his with Ms M, who kindly got it not only all over her car seat but also all over her. After we listened to awards for a bit. I won a pair of earrings. They are pretty cute. After the girls did an obstacle course that took them through the big toy. After that we went and watched daddy having his turn in the dunk tank. Lil wanted to throw the balls and then wouldn't throw them once it was her turn. She wanted me too but I was juggling the camera, Buddy Boy, and trying to get her to participate. Needless to say I made a big fool of myself as I threw the ball right handed really close and still missed the target. Yep, that's me for you. It was fun to watch the kids get so excited to dunk their teacher.

We finished the night with the color throw. Buddy and the girls LOVED it. We ran around throwing color all over everybody. It was chaos and we loved every minute of it. Even Buddy who normally is glued to me or RB.

Lastly, we got our pictures taken (I'll post those later once I get them!), RB finally got some food for him, and we helped clean everything up. Getting home a little after 9, showered, and kids in bed by 10pm made for a great evening of fun memories!

Ms M Update

Ms M had her 9 month check up. Here are her stats:
weight 18.31 lbs = 33%
height 27 in. = 23%
head 16.7 in. = 9%
Ms M is doing great. She likes to pull herself up to things and stand. She hates being put to sleep while being held now. We have to put her in her crib to sleep. She still gives us toothy grins and I wonder if she will get fangs like Buddy Boy. She is a joy to have in our home and really only gets upset when she is tired or hungry. Otherwise she is happy and plays with whoever or whatever she can get her hands on. Love you Ms M!

Kindergarten & Gymnastic Performances

First of all the girls got a hold of the camera. They took a picture of their favorite part. Can you guess the movie?

I was able to go to Lil's Kindergarten performance. She did so good. She was super excited, as you can see in the first picture. I knew she had a poem memorized but I had no idea she had a singing part as well. She came up to the microphone and I knew I better start recording. She never told us about that part. She knew her lines and was very vocal. They all did a great job!

After with a friend, and then with brother.

Gymnastics for the year is over. It was kind of a long year for me to take them and pick them up. They kind of want to do it again next year, but Lil really wants to do karate, and MJ would like to do ballet. We'll see what happens after a summer off! They did well showing us what they had learned all year. MJ was really shy, which I expected, and Lil was energetic Lil, like always. I only posted one video of each of the girls. If you want to see more let me know.

Hope you all have a great day!

Craziness

This month has been CRAZY. As yes we still have most of it to go. We have had some fun adventures I forgot to write about and more to come. So here comes some random things that have been happening:

1) RB has been getting some pictures printed of different stars.
This first one is of his dad and Tyler Newbold. The Aggies had just won the tournament.

RB and MJ went to the Spring playoff game for the Aggies. There he saw two past players that now play for the Seattle Seahawks. RB said they were the nicest guys ever!
Robert Turbin
(RB said his biceps are HUGE! Too bad you can't really see them in the picture.)

Bobby Wagner

2) For school we do a Fun Run as a fund raiser. This year we decided to do a color run. To get the kids excited two other teachers and I dressed up as the color fairies and explained what the run would be like. The kids are super excited about it. We have doubled our numbers already of who was there last year. More pictures will definitely be coming about this, since the run isn't until the 20th.

3) MJ and RB went to the zoo for her 2nd grade field trip. They had a great time. RB said there are 4 new exhibits we haven't seen and so we are going to go back this summer. It should be a lot of fun.

4) Lil went on her Kindergarten field trip as well. They went to the hospital and to a little local zoo.

The kids really liked the turtles in the wagon.

5) We took an emergency trip to WY a week ago. My mom took this picture one morning of all the kids hanging out on the air mattress. My kiddos!

6) My sister is moving in with us and we have been busy cleaning and dejunking the house. It is something that needed to be done anyways so this is good! She is going to be our nanny next year and we are excited to have come and live with us!

I think that is all for now. I will post pictures and video of Lil's Kindergarten performance later. Have a great day!
