March started out like any other month. Busy and full of activities and commitments. We are blessed with wonderful people in our lives! Knowing that RB & I would be out of town Mol's and Park's teams helped us out. Someone gave them a ride down to RSL to be able to walk out onto the field with their team. What a fun experience for both of them! They loved it! Then they got to watch the game too. I'm grateful for good people who can help out!
RB & I went to Vegas for the Mountain West conference tournament and we got to watch the Aggies be back-to-back conference champions! All three games were intense to watch! We ate such good food and had a great time watching basketball, hot-tubing, and being together.
Friday March 13, 2020 is when EVERYTHING changed! I took the day off work to get mouth surgery. I had two holes in my gums that needed cleaned out and compacted. This made it so my teeth wont need root channels. I got home about noon and rested on the couch the rest of the day. That night Gov. Herbert announced the closure of all UT schools. No more school at the schools. That next week RB & I still went into work on Monday and Tuesday to learn online teaching. To top it off, UT had a pretty big earthquake too with some aftershocks. That was quit scary!
So Wednesday we began out at home online learning. Five kids and two teachers all needing devices to learn on. I'm thankful for our good router and internet service. I'm also thankful for GOOD kids. My kids rocked the online learning. They knew they had to get things checked off before moving on, they got up and got to work every day, and for the most part they were almost always finished by lunch or just after. They were good to know when RB and I could and could not help them based on what we were doing with our morning meetings and our own class zoom calls. Overall, it was an adjustment, but we survived and I feel we survived well!
Thankful for the morning bus and afternoon bus that brought breakfast and lunch, until they started doing it at the schools again.
Home learning.
Cooking class. That was nice that MJ had to cook food for her class. Made it so we didn't have to cook a few nights. :)
Figuring out zoom.
So what does quarantine in the Pedersen household look like? Well, it's...
-soccer pickup games in the backyard with the kids
-going on weekly scavenger hunt walks to find things in windows like Disney characters, Marvel characters, temples, flowers, etc.
-being a dinosaur in daddy's morning message video to his students
-doing music videos for morning messages
-being an extra in the morning messages
-Playing hide and seek
-Finding anything and everything possible to make the tramp more fun
-Flying kites at the park
-Going to friends home to work and play
-Being an Em-a-nator. Silly girl!
-Doing hair. Sorry Mayo! Didn't even realize I was doing the braids differently. Good thing we can't go anywhere. This is what stress does to you. :)
-Watching home movies and taking a break
People thought this would last 2 weeks. Well, they were wrong. It is still going! But March was good!
