The Lake

Yesterday was a busy day. RB went golfing in the morning with his brother and so the kids and I went shopping. We shopped for about 2 hours and played at a playground for about 1 hour. Then we headed to his brothers home where we finished packing up and headed to a lake about 30 min. from his home. It was a blast. I didn't swim and Buddy Boy just got his feet wet. One raft was with RB's brother, Lil, and a cousin. The other raft had RB, MJ, and another cousin in it. They paddled across the lake where they did a little cliff jumping and then paddled back. They had a great time playing in the water and I'm glad the wind didn't make it cold.

Here we go. Didn't get a pic. of RB's boat because they were too fast at setting off.

Buddy Boy and I waiting for the return of the others.

Here they come at last. They won on the way over, but lost on the way back.

Rb's brother was really helpful in bringing them into shore by giving them a little extra push. Oops, wrong way.

Just having fun playing.

When we got home we all jumped in the shower and unloaded the car fast. Then we went to some friends home for dinner and a game. It was a great day!

Buddy Boy & Summer Projects

Buddy Boy has quite the sense of humor. He ate some licorice the other day and of course got it all over his face and hands. Then he proceeded to chase everybody around the house trying to goober them with stickiness. He loved it!

I'm glad I got a picture of this. Buddy Boy loves putting blankets and dish rags around his neck. He usually gets all cuddly afterwards too. It's so cute.

The girls went outside the other day to ride their bikes. They put on their helmets and Buddy Boy grabbed the extra one and headed outside with them. He loved walking around with it on his head.

Summer brings lots of home projects. Lucky for me being pregnant I get a free pass on most of them. I have helped a ton though. First RB dug up the grass and I rolled it so it was easier for him. Then together we leveled the ground to lay down the cinder blocks. He did the heavy lifting and I did the leveling of the dirt and sand. Nice easy job I could do on my bum. Our principal brought us a trailer full of dirt. That saved us a ton of time and hassle with our dry dirt-clot dirt. Hers was very good dirt. Hopefully once we refinish the fence she will be able to bring in some more for us. We plan on building this up a little, and tilling it so it will be ready for a garden next year.

Projects that still need to be done:
*refinishing the fence and play set
*building up the dirt and tilling it in for the garden
*lay down the carpet in our basement
*put together the basement again now that it is all dried up from being flooded

One of the best parts is we still have a week of June left. YEA! Happy Summer Everyone!

GR Trip

We decided that if we were going to go visit my family before the baby came, we should do it early in June. So the next week after Yellowstone we took off again for my parents home.  We had a good, long, nice, relaxing week. I got to see both of my brothers as well. Plus we played MANY games. Too bad my sister moved and couldn't play with us (Love you Chel :)).

Of course we visited the splash pad. The girls love it. Buddy Boy took some convincing but toward the end him and daddy were getting wet too.

My parents got a new tramp mat too. The girls love jumping on it. Lil didn't quit make it off the one day and one leg fell down over the bricks. Her leg looks pretty cool with the craps. It really hurt though. It didn't stop her from getting back on again later so that is good.

Thanks mom and dad for letting us stay. We love visiting you guys!

Yellowstone June 2012

Two weeks ago we went to Yellowstone. We really like that place. The sights are beautiful and we have a good time there. On our way into Montana it snowed. It was chilly that first day, great weather the other two days we were there, and it rained the day we left. So overall, we lucked out with great weather.

The girls were so fun to watch play as we went to each of the sights. They had a blast playing, singing, and being goof balls together.

Buddy Boy did great in his Parker Pack. He loved being in it (and not in his car seat) and being able to look around at everything. He especially loved the waterfalls and watching the water.

We have decided there may be many young couples having children soon after seeing Buddy Boy in his pack. We had multiple people, and not just the women,  staring at RB and Buddy Boy with this look of "Awww, so cute."

There were many sights that I did not go see in my pregnant state. Buddy Boy and I would hang out in the car (he slept most of the time in the car) while RB took the girls. This is Uncle Tom's Cabin. Many, many stairs, but a great view at the end of it. Glad we have technology so I could still see it without being there myself.

RB is turning into a nerd (he says so himself too). He loves teaching Science to 4th graders and we had to stop at the continental divide. Then I got his picture on both sides of the divide. :)

We saw lots of animals. We had three bear sightings, with one being a cub right off the side of the road. I only got video of that one though because you couldn't stop and take pictures unless you drove further up and got out. So we just drove by it three times instead of getting out.

Lil started out liking every trail we went on and ended up hating every trail. You would have thought she was going to die the way she dragged her feet toward the end of every trial. Then as we got in the car to go to the next spot she would ask if we were going back to the hotel yet so they could go swimming. The girls really liked swimming every night we were there. Buddy boy not so much.

This was one of our favorite spots. It's called Dragon's Breath or something like that. MJ is not convinced there is a real dragon in that cave behind us but the rest of us are.

At the upper falls we have a fun story. A man looked at MJ, Lil, Buddy Boy, and then my belly and held up one finger for each of them. Then as he walked by he goes, "Man you would think you lived up North were it was cold or something," and then walked off. I just laughed.

One of the best parts of the trip for me was every day we went into the park I got to do the "We are in Wyoming" dance. RB hates that dance. It was great. Not all of Wyoming is dead, and desolate.

We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

Slides

The kids have enjoyed the slide in the backyard now that RB has fixed it. Even Buddy Boy has learned new tricks.

Enjoy!
