Tuesday was an epic day. Yes, I just said epic. The morning was a blast. We went crabbing and want to return to OR just so we can do it again. The girls were pretty apprehensive at first but as we got into it they had a great time. You could tell we were tourists. Not just because of how we couldn't pick up the crabs but because of the chairs set up we had. Nobody else had chairs. Oh well. The couple next to us were awesome. He was so good to help us and give up pointers. He also let us use his knife to cut the bait, and gave us a few zip ties. When we were done we let him keep the extra bait that we didn't use. It was a little thank you for all he did for us! They were fun to talk to and they made the whole crabbing experience fun! We started out slow. The bait fell off, we had empty cages, and MJ just kept crossing her fingers that we would catch something big enough to keep. After a while we got the hang of it with better bait and started to catch more crabs. Too bad I didn't get any video when we were really getting a ton of them. You could keep any size or gender from the red crabs. However, the gray crabs had to be a certain size or bigger and they had to be male. Over all we caught 3 gray crabs and 4 red ones. A company right next to the pier we were on will strip and cook the crabs $1 a crab. Good deal to not have to do it yourself. So we took it back to the condo and we all had some. RB got his fill as he ate 95% of it. We had a great time.
A seal swam by as we were waiting to pull up our cages once. It was cool.
At the condo these were were sword fighting. What cuties!
After lunch we headed to the pool. This time everybody came. We had the place all to ourselves. It was a blast. We had water shooter fights and teamed up. I recorded some video but it was too big of a file to upload. So sorry you don't get to see any of it.
After swimming we headed back to Devils (Fruit) Punch Bowl for low tide. It was considerably different at low tide. I'm glad we went back to see the difference.
We went down to the beach area to explore more tide pools. I'm glad we did. These tide pools were cooler than the corral beach ones. We saw all sorts of cool creatures and plants in these ones. Still no star fish though for MJ, but she was okay with it.
That night RB and I took a walk with the these two. They played a bit at the playground, and we watched the light on the lighthouse go around and around. It was crazy windy so we didn't stay out long before going back.
Crabbing was a highlight to our entire trip and made this an excellent day.
