Thanksgiving 2009

I should have taken more pictures but I was really lazy this week. Thanksgiving was spent with my family in WY and it was a blast. We went swimming, played a ton of games, watched plenty of movies, and ate so much food I now weigh a ton!

MJ was so excited so play with her cousins and sleep on the air mattress in the living room with them.


Petting Aunt Chel's horses was a big hit as well.


Lastly, RB got a haircut with plenty of helpers. Aunt Chel, MJ, and Lil all got trims as well. I hope all of your Thanksgivings were filled with family and love as well!

Jeeping

Yesterday, we decided to go jeeping even though it was snowing. We went up Mantua canyon and had a blast. On the way up a hill RB tried to get the jeep in 4W low. He couldn't get it in and we started to go backwards. So he did the cool turn thing up against the mountain to turn us around the right way. It scared me because i wasn't ready for it. He goes, "It's okay," and then we begin sliding toward the edge of the mountain. He stops right before the edge and says, "Get the kids out." Not something you want to hear right after being told things are fine.


This is Lil and I watching RB get the jeep unstuck. She did not want to be put down.


MJ was so worried about RB in the jeep. She thought for sure it was going to go down the side. I told her over and over again, daddy had it under control.


After some more sliding off the side (there was a little edge way before the drop) RB is finally able to reverse without spinning the wheels. He maneuvers the jeep out and facing the correct way again. Here are the tracks he made while doing it.

We did not get in again immediately because every time he tried to go toward the mountain side he would slide toward the edge. He finally got it away from the edge and we slowly made our way down the mountain.

RB was so happy after jeeping. He loves getting stuck and trying to get out again. Something about his youth and memory lane or something. It was really fun. My feet froze, but it was fun!


Lil was just beet after watching RB get the jeep unstuck.


At home again warming up by the heater and relaxing.


It was good to get out of the house and do something, even if it was the first snow storm of the year . Lil is excited to go again but MJ is still a little worried. Glad to have our jeep back anyways.

Who's who, jeep, and Primary Program

So awhile back I did a post where you were supposed to guess who was who. The pictures were taken really close by MJ. I never did post the answers and not to be honest with you I'm not sure I could tell you myself. Sorry.

Moving on. Sometime at the end of Sept. beginning of Oct. we bought a jeep. We decided we wanted one to go jeeping with some friends. They had a Moab trip planned and we were going to go with them. After getting the jeep we found it had an oil leak that needed to be fixed. So we took it over to Logan and left it at a buddies shop. Our friend called us the next day and asked when we were going to leave the jeep. We said we already did. Well somebody had stolen our jeep. It was a Friday when we called the cops and reported it not really expecting to see if ever again. On Sunday our friend calls us up and says he found our jeep. They people who took it decided it wasn't worth it for whatever reason and left it a shop over behind a dumpster. We called the cops again on Monday and they thought our friend just didn't look in the right spot for it. Whatever is easier for them. At least we got our jeep. Well kind of. It still had to go into the shop. Needless to say we did not make it on our Moab trip and a month later we finally got our jeep back from the shop. Yea, we have our jeep and it is in my driveway. One day we will take it jeeping too!

Sunday was our Primary Program. It went really well and I'm so grateful for that. MJ was scared to do her part. The day before she was talking and asked why people cry in the microphone. She asked if it was because they were scared. I said most people just feel the spirit and cry but asked if she was scared. Sunday came and she sat with her class. She got up and said her part so you could hear her too. The person before her said I can be reverent during the sacrament. MJ's part was I can do this by looking at pictures of Jesus. She was so proud of herself when she was done and made me give her a high five and a hug. It was great!

Happy Halloween!

Here we are carving our pumpkins. MJ hated the insides of it but she did try once so I was happy. Lil didn't really care for the insides either but she didn't get funny faces like MJ did.


For school I dressed up like a hillbilly.


RB dressed up like a nerd. His students didn't get it. The other teachers and parents loved it though. He even had toilet paper coming out the back of his pants.


Lil was a little fairy. Very cute, even though she didn't leave the head part on.


MJ was a beautiful grouchy princess.


Here are the finished pumpkins. MJ's has lots of eyes with eyebrows. Lil loved getting candy at peoples houses. She was dancing, hopping, and running all over the place. She was so happy about the whole thing. MJ only wore her dress because we went to a party after and she got to show her friend her costume.


After treat-or-treating we went to a party. It was fun to hang out with friends. RB took out Nacho Libre. Here is a link to a video of it.

When we came home the sky looked like a painting. I tried to get a picture of it. Pretty cool.


Overall, Halloween was great. I'm glad we got to turn back our clocks and get an extra hour of sleep. Have a great day!
