Family "Camp Out"

This years family "Camp Out" was really just a get together at my parents home. My mom had knee surgery and so she can't go anywhere and can hardly move around. So we all went to her. We did go to the gorge to play in the water, and go boating. The guys went fishing a couple of times too. One morning the girls went shopping, and before everyone got there my kids went to the splash pad one day. The only mishap was when MJ fell through the tramp. We had a great time visiting with family! 

 When asked what happened my nephew said, "I saw the whole thing. She bounced down. Then up. And then she disappeared. The tramp ate all of her."

Then when we told him to look after the little kids to make sure they wouldn't get on he responded, "I'll spring into action."

I love my family! Glad nobody got seriously hurt!

Summer Oddball Happenings

Here are some summer oddball activities that we did in no particular order. 

First, the primary did a Christmas in July activity. At the end they had a water fight and I had to get pictures of our bishopric counselor who joined in. Love this man. 

Splash pad fun. 

The $1 movie with the neighbor kids. We saw "Monster Trucks." We own it but it was fun to see it on the big screen. It's a cute show. 

Being cute! Even with spaghetti all over her face she is a cutie. For dinner one night we had corn and corn dogs. She stuck the corn holders in her corn dog. Silly girl. 

Buddy boy practicing how to fish. RB took him to first dam with his sister and brother-in-law. They had a good night. Buddy Boy almost caught two fish. He had a great time and can't wait to go back. 

With MJ turning 12 she now has a temple recommend. RB and I took her to do baptisms for the dead. We found one family name to take with us. Since then MJ and I have found more names that need to be done. MJ can't wait to go back. 

USU had their Fall scrimmage. After they have activities on the field for the kids. Ms M was all about doing every activity. She had a great time running around throwing and kicking footballs. Buddy Boy did a few of them. Then the other three just sat in the shade and watched. They didn't want to do any of it. :) 

Daddy and Buddy Boy got the big train out for a few days before school started. All the kids got involved playing with it. 

Early in the summer we went to my parents to watch my nephew in state rodeo. I'm not sure I really understand this sport. It still baffles me why you would willingly get on a bulls back, just to be bucked around, getting all sore, if not hurt worse, just to try to stay on for however long. Oh well, he likes it and we went to watch him. He did pretty good and it was fun seeing my sister. 

The kids did their cousin swap. They two cousins came to our home for a few days and then they went to the other cousins home for a few days. Here they are hanging out at the mall waiting for their uncle. 

Andy K "Captain Aggie" Pedersen

RB's dad passed away on July 13th. RB said the perfect quote, "My dad didn't die from Parkinson's Disease, he lived through it." How true that was. Andy loved fishing, hunting, USU Aggies, Disneyland, playing in the band, his harmonica, Honey the cat, trains, the gospel, and his family. He will be deeply missed. 

RB was lucky enough to spend the day with his dad. He went over that morning to help do little jobs. Then his dad laid down to take a nap. He never woke up. He died peacefully and now he is not in any more pain. What a blessing that is. 

His funeral and viewing was beautiful. Lots of stories, hugs, and memories were shared. RB got his family Capt. Aggie shirts and they all wore them to the viewing. That was pretty cool seeing them all in their shirts. (When I get copies of the pics, I'll post them.) RB and his brothers all did a fabulous job on their talks. They shared some great memories at the funeral service. Lots of love and support for his mom! So grateful for my testimony of eternal families and life after death. This is not the end, and we will be with Andy for eternity! Til we meet again dad!
